PI Curt D’Accio is having a bad day. The police are taking over his case concerning a political candidate that’s being falsely smeared because his leading suspect was just murdered. The records for a two-year-old murder conviction he's been hired to re-examine arrive incomplete due to an equipment glitch. A close friend is having a meltdown due to a personally traumatic event. Then a sniper shoots him.

Though seriously wounded, Curt survives the attempted assassination. The second attempt draws him into a major DEA investigation and its hunt for a ruthless cartel’s drug pipeline. A hunt that unexpectedly takes a personal turn. Then there’s the sociopathic shifter family, one of whom he’s positive committed the murder Aaron Rivas was framed for.
